modular system for permeable concrete floor

the challenge in this project was to create a permeable concrete floor, for an existing fountain which did not drain. we designed a parametric 3d model on which we tested different variables that helped us determine the correct diameter sizes to provide enough spacing between modules to effectively drain 100% of the water and at the same time structure the concrete to support the weight of a standard size vehicle. the system consisted of six equal concrete pieces, therefore with the use of different materials we developed a durable and flexible mold that could be assembled and disassembled several times, making only one mold for the pouring of the whole system.
