project goal,

design, manufacture and install an illuminated onyx bridge that would join both bodies of the residence, with no trace of its structure.

the residence the onyx bridge was designed for was created as two separate bodies. the onyx bridge would serve as a joining walkway that would illuminate at night. people would be able to walk on top of this bridge, as well as to see it from below, since it leads to the residence main entrance. we created a structure, were the top onyx pieces would rest, and the lower onyx pieces would be hanging, and removable if needed. to strengthen the upper onyx pieces, which would be receiving weight and traffic, we laminated 12 mm glass with 9 mm glass and 19 mm onyx. this would structure the onyx enough for its use as a walkway.
