Create a water ripple effect throughout a concrete wall
New York City
GFRC PoolWall is a feature wall in 520W 28th St Zaha Hadid Luxury Apartment Building in Chelsea.
The concrete wall simulates water ripples, we had the task to fabricate a continuous pattern throughout the wall, with the design required by the Architect.
The PoolWall covers 3 of the 4 walls of the pool area in the amenities of the building.
The wall was completely produced in our workshop in Santa Catarina, and shipped to NYC.
The panels that form the wall are of specially pigmented GFRC, using fiberglass molds.
Althought the installation was done by Twin Resources, we designed and produced a trolly that would assist the installation. This trolly could move, rotate and approximate the panels to its final position all within the narrow pool aisle, and considering the height of the panels was from floor to ceiling with only an inch gap on each end.
